Dynamic fields are powerful tools that can make your reminders much more efficient and personalized. But what exactly are they, and how do they work? Essentially, dynamic fields are placeholders that automatically fill in relevant information, like appointment date & time, company name, customer details, and even custom text. Imagine setting up a reminder that includes specifics like a doctor’s name, room number, or an amount due—all without having to manually enter the details every time.

How Do I Add Dynamic Fields? #
Step 1 : Add Dynamic Fields to Your Reminder Type #
To add dynamic fields to your reminder type, go to the “Reminder Types” page by hovering over the Navigation Menu and then selecting “Reminder Settings”, “General Reminder Settings” , “Reminder Types (Templates)”.
From here you can either create a new reminder type or edit an existing reminder type.
For this example, I have a simple reminder type that adds several dynamic fields.
- Company Name
- First Name
- Appointment Date
- Appointment Time
- Custom Field 1
Step 2 : Schedule your Reminder and Add the Dynamic Fields #
Now that we have our reminder type created, I can schedule the reminder. For this example, I will just add it through the website, but you can also use import files or a linked calendar.
To add a reminder for an existing patient/customer go to the “Customers Page” by hovering over the Navigation Menu and selecting “My Customers”, “Customers/Patients”.
Then click on View/Add reminders for the customer to create a new reminder.
Click the “Add New Reminder” Button.
Then I add the reminder and make sure to put a value in Custom Field 1 since I added this into the Reminder Type.
Check the Results #
If I go to the “Reminders Page” I can see that the reminder went out. If I click on the magnifying glass, I can see the details of the reminder including all the dynamic fields.
