Getting people to join your text message list shouldn’t be hard. With our text message sign up, you can let customers subscribe using a straightforward link — and optional QR code — that works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Whether you add it to your website, social media, event signage, or email newsletter, an easy text message sign up option helps you grow your SMS subscriber base without complexity.
Step 1: Upload Images #
Before you create a publicly accessable texting sign up page, you will probably want to upload an image to use on that page. Keep in mind that this is optional.
To do this, you can use our built-in image uploader. Once you upload an image, copy the URL of that image location.
Step 2: Create a Distribution List #
- Go to the Distribution List Page by hovering over the “Navigation Menu”. Then select “My Customers” and then “Distribution Lists”.
- Click on “Add a New Distribution List” to add a new one or “Edit” if you already have one created.
- Enter a name for this list.
- Check “Make Public”. This will create a public URL that allows people to sign up for the list.
- Add a description. This description will be on the public URL page. My description says “Please join our texting list to receive text messages about upcoming shows and events!”
- Add an image URL. Use the URL from the image file that you uploaded in step 1.
- Press Save
Step 3: Copy and Share the QR Code #
Now you can copy and share the link or the QR code. You can create any marketing or social media posts and include the QR code. Go ahead and click on the link to see what it will look like for your customers.
Here is an example of a poster that I created with the QR Code, the logo, and some text to let people know that they can scan the code to be added to the list.
Step 4: People Scan the QR Code and Join the List! #
When someone scans the QR code or clicks on the link, they will see a page with your uploaded image file as well as a quick form that allows them to join your text list.
Once they complete the form, they will receive a text message to let them know that they have joined as well as information that tells them how to opt out.
